Hunting ground “Vitinya” is situated in the western part of Stara Planina mountain and is named after Vitinski peak. At only 40 km away from Sofia airport, the hunting station manages forests and wildlife on an area of 21 579.9 ha.
The terrain in “Vitinya” is typically mountainous. It forms a complex network of ridges and gullies covered by mixed deciduous forests (oak and beech). The highest point is Murgash Peak – 1600 m, and the lowest point is near Bebres dam – 500 m.
Despite the small area, wildlife diversity is relatively large. Red deer is the main species here, followed by roe deer, wild boar and Tibetan yak. Some of the best wild boar driven hunts are organized in “Vitinya”. The hunting ground is also famous for its pheasant hunts. Here you can experience some of the best walked-up shootings.
“Vitinya” hunting lodge has 5 double rooms, dining room, impressive trophy hall with fireplace, and the service is excellent.
The hunting station also offers trout, carp and white amur fishing, as well as horse riding, trekking and photosafari.
