Hunting Ground “Borovo”

Hunting ground “Borovo” is located at 150 km from Sofia Airport and 70 km from the city of Plovdiv. It is situated on the southern slopes of Batak Mountain, below the Batashki Snezhnik peak. The altitude varies from 500 m at Antonivanovtsi dam to 2082 m at Batashki Sneznik peak.

The hunting territory of “Borovo” covers 18 178 ha. Deciduous and coniferous forests cover 95% of the whole area. The various terrain and the relative isolation from major roads guarantee the presence of rich wildlife here. The hunting for red deer, wild boar, chamois, bear, capercaillie, roe deer, predators has a very high success rate.

Big game in “Borovo” has very good trophy qualities. The best red stag trophy is evaluated at 220.63 pts, and there are good chances for hunters to harvest 7-9 kg trophies. The best roe deer trophy so far is 277 gr, and the usual weight of roe deer trophies is between 200-250 gr. Chamois hunting in “Borovo” also gives very good results with trophies between 90-110 pts, and the best one so far is evaluated at 110.48 pts. As to wild boar hunting, the size of wild boar tusks varies from 18 to 22 cm and the best trophy harvested in this area is 24.03 cm.

In “Borovo” guests are accommodated in a hunting lodge with 6 double rooms and 1 apartment available. Each room has its own shower and WC.

“Borovo” also offers its guests excursions to the second largest city in Bulgaria – Plovdiv and its ancient part, declared as an architectural reserve. Trips to the Rhodope towns of Devin and Batak, as well as to the unique Trigrad gorge are also available. There is also an opportunity for horse riding at some of the most beautiful and picturesque places in Rhodopes mountains.
